About Lotus Yoga
In eastern tradition, the Lotus Flower represents the victory of the spirit over the senses, and signifies the wisdom of knowledge. It grows through mud and carries itself through pure water exposing itself to the sunlight and blooming with remarkable beauty. At dusk, the flower closes and retires back underwater, rising again at dawn exposing its inner beauty to the world. Untouched by the impurity, the lotus flower represents long life, health, and honor and symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The flower resembles the path of the individual towards enlightenment and represents the highest aspiration. In yoga, the heart can be visualized as a lotus flower unfolding at the centre of the chest. Like a Lotus that contracts and unravels itself according to the light, our spiritual heart can be awakened through various yoga practices such as Asana, Pranayma and meditation.
Yoga has become an essential element in our daily life. Yoga benefits include strengthening our physical state, reducing and controlling our stress levels, healing our body and mind thus enabling us to find inner peace while boosting our confidence.
Yoga enhances the body’s immune system through therapeutic twists and turns of the body as well as controlled breathing exercises, improving blood circulation in sluggish parts of the body. People who practice yoga regularly find that their immune system will develop resulting in fewer chronic complains such colds, ear infections, better circulation, and better skin tone and more energy. In addition, the internal organs are toned and massaged by specific postures of Asana.

“I feel particularly honoured to write this profile on Lotus Yoga website. When I was in my teenage years, I was told that I would probably never have my hormonal levels balanced like any other woman. I was often experiencing dismenorea and mood swings. Now, being practicing yoga for the last 5 years, I feel balanced and in harmony with myself. The Certificate for Bodybuilding instructor that I acquired in 1996 from Bulgarian National Academy of Sports has helped me enormously when trying to obtain my First Class Certificate in Yoga Therapy in May, 2007, as basic physiology, anatomy and different holistic therapies were dwelled on. The course I took was very intensive, held in India, Tamil region and was conducted in a special Gurukul system that only entails 4 people at a time and teaches traditional Astanga yoga. Proudly, I scored the highest mark in the group and that made me even more enthusiastic to continue with my Nutrition Diploma course. Certified with USA Yoga alliance, Ayurveda organization in India, Ministry of Health in Bahrain and Bulgarian Yoga Association, my yoga practice has taken different priority in my life and I am willing to share and pass on this positive energy to as many individuals as possible.”
